Elbert Pittman December 25, 1919 - August 09, 2006 Elbert Pittman, 86, of Forster Avenue died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Pittman was a retired construction worker. He loved children and animals. Born in Merrimac, Ky., Dec. 25, 1919, Mr. Pittman was the son of Floyd and Vera Cox Pittman. He married Gertrude Heitz in September 1939. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Brown of Columbus; grandchildren, Deborah Pittman of Columbus, Paula West of Edinburgh, Stacey Heath of Columbus and Tony Brown of Iowa; great-grandchildren, Tina, Justin, Jeremy, Nick, Molly, Casey, Samantha, Gidget, Cory, Cole, Lacey, Noah, Ryan, Blake and Brittany; a sister, Grace Penrose of Columbus; a brother, Eugene Pittman of Florida; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 11, 1984; and grandchildren, David and Rudy Brown. Funeral Information FUNERAL:A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating.
