Tuesday at the funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, St. Peter's Lutheran School or a charity of the donor's choice Emma Jane Nolting, 89, of Flatrock Township, died at 2:39 a.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Care Facility. Emma Jane was born March 2, 1925, in Shelby County, the daughter of Paul G. and Pauline E. Thomas Scott. Emma Jane was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, and was active in the Mary Martha Circle and the Couples Club. She volunteered for many organizations including the Grain Train. After graduation from Clifford High School in 1943, she worked for an accounting firm in Indianapolis. She then married Robert G. Nolting December 7, 1946, at the home of Pastor August Brauer. After her marriage, Emma Jane was employed by Arvin Industries, the Bartholomew County Treasurer, ASCS Office and the Bartholomew County Auditor. Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Nolting of Columbus; son, Bill (Diana) Nolting of Columbus; daughter, Mary M. (Bob) Edmundson of Hayden; grandchildren, Juliana (Shawn) Stuckey, Abbey (Ken) Flora, Christa (Mark) Green and Katie (Greg) Lovins; great-grandchildren, Bret Robbins, Alex Mohr, Colby, Gracie and Jobey Lovins, Rachel Stuckey; step-great-granddaughter, Cammy Flora; sisters, Margaret Hanafee of Florida and Betty Andrews of Indianapolis; as well as several nieces and nephews. Emma Jane was preceded in death by her parents Paul G. and Pauline E. Thomas Scott; brothers Harold Scott & Thomas Scott; and a sister Lucille Fricke.
