Eric Loy McIntyre, 48, of Road 325 East, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Columbus, October 21, 1963, the son of Dexter L. and Mary L. Spurgeon McIntyre. He graduated from Hauser High School. Eric enjoyed listening to music, going camping with his parents and drinking coffee with friends. Eric is survived by his parents, both of Columbus; a brother, Kevin J. McIntyre of Bartholomew County; uncles, Marvin (Linda) Hamilton, Ronald (Sue) McIntyre, Pete Preston Geyer, Earl Spurgeon, Ronald (Nancy) Spurgeon, Donald (Karen) Spurgeon, David (Susan) Spurgeon, and Charles (Nancy) Spurgeon; aunts, Linda Kunce, Beverly Spurgeon, Norma Jean Plummer and Peggie Woliuing; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by uncles, Harry Spurgeon, James Spurgeon and Larry Spurgeon; aunts, Mary Ann Wood, Loretta Sue McIntyre and Margaret Spurgeon; and grandparents, Lester and Dorothy Spurgeon and Lula and Charlie Hamilton. FUNERAL: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Dr. William Bailey officiating. VISITATION: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 23 and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Parkside Baptist Church Building Fund.
