  1. Ernest Freese was my teacher in 6th grade at State Street School in 1963. He believed in me and gave me my first real sense of confidence. I wish I could have told him that of a handful of mentors and encouragers over my lifetime, (I’m now 68 and have had my share of success and professional fulfillment), he was my first and one of the most influential. He was, without a doubt, my favorite teacher ever. May he rest in peace and may his family know that he was one incredible educator and human being. Maiden name – Cheryl Axsom – now Sherri Weidman of Naples, FL
