Ernesto was born Nov. 2, 1990, in Miami, Florida, the son of Juan A. Martinez and Patricia A. Bustos. Ernesto was a graduate of Columbus East High School, where he played football all four years. He then graduated from Indiana State University and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was employed at Tri-Hawk Automotive in Austin, Indiana. He loved to dance and was always the life of the party. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Hector Martinez officiating. Calling hours will be from 4to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Survivors include his mother, Patricia Bustos of San Benito, Texas; brothers, Jose (Alesha) Martinez of Columbus, Hector (Lorena) Martinez of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Juan (Jessica) Martinez of Columbus and Fernando (Mary) Martinez of Harlingen, Texas; a sister, Elizabeth (Wilmer) Linares of San Benito, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Martinez.






My prayers are with all family and friends of Ernie during this difficult time.
I miss you bro… I can’t wait till I get to see you again… Until then mi hermano!
The world will miss you Ernie. It has been a long time, but I know every time I saw you, you were making people smile! Rest easy.
Juan I am devastated to hear about Ernie. He was such a good guy. Sweet kind person. So sad to know that things were this bad for him.

My deepest condolences to Ernie’s family. I worked with him at trihawk for awhile. He always seemed to be happy and always smiling. He will be missed but not forgotten. Prayers for the family.
