Estelle Ray Dile
September 18, 1940 ~ June 18, 2025
Ray Dile, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, left this earth to join his Heavenly Father on June 18, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 18, 1940, in Edmonton, Kentucky,
Ray is survived by his devoted wife of many cherished years, Mary Ann (Williams) Dile. Together, they raised a beautiful family that included daughters Leada (Dean) Carr, Dodie Dile, Shelly (Pat) Owens, and son Arlon Williams. He was also the proud brother of Pearlie Whited, Naomi Fleetwood Pyle, Elizabeth Hammond, and Sue Ballard. The joy of his heart, his grandchildren Marc Phelps, Bradley Williams, Michael Williams, Matthew Phelps, Shayla Williams, Major Dile, Jada Dile, and Brittany Miller, will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Ray was further blessed with many great-grandchildren: Chatham, Fisher, Porter, Cooper, Parker, Finley, Hendrix, Amaya, Nova, Michael, Alyssa, Brycen, Brileigh, Alexis, Aria, Anastasia, Allyson, Liam and Mason.
Ray spent many years as a dedicated truck driver. His love extended beyond his family to include the church community at Columbus General Baptist Church, where his faith played a significant role in his life. Ray lived his faith through his actions, embodying the very values he held dear: generosity, compassion, and a quiet strength drawn from an unshakable belief.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Major Ray Dile and Leada Burton Dile Blair, his sons Larry Sluder and Douglas Ray Dile, and his siblings Betty Walker, Virginia Dile, Anna Dile, Marie Dile, and Noah Dile. Despite the sorrow of those left behind, there is comfort in knowing he is reunited with them in eternal peace.
The memory of Ray Dile, a man of faith-filled generosity, will continue to inspire all who knew him, as they recall the warmth of his smile and the depth of his kindness. .
