Esther M. Johnson, 89, of Edinburgh, died at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Hospice of SouthCentral Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Lodge. She loved to play bingo. Born in Glenncoe, Ky., July 18,1922, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of Marshal Noel and Maggie Cates Noel. She married Jimmie Johnson who preceded her in death March 31, 2005. Survivors include a son, Cecil Cox of Edinburgh; grandsons, Cecil Cox II of Hope and Allen Cox of Columbus;and great-granddaughters, Ashley and Kelly Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Floyd Cox; a grandson, Kevin Cox; and granddaughters,Patty and Kathy Cox. SERVICES: 1:00 p.m. Friday March 23, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery
