Eugene B. Davis June 30, 1927 - September 10, 2006 Eugene B. Davis, 79, of Fairlawn Drive died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Millers Merry Manor at Hope. Mr. Davis was retired plant manager for Green Giant Co. in California and Washington state and also drove a bus for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. for several years. He was a graduate of California Polytechnic Institute of Technology, a veteran of the Army and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was affiliated with Crossroads Community Church He also was a motorcycle enthusiast and rider. Born in Live Oak, Calif., June 30, 1927, Mr. Davis was the son of James B. and Ida Snyder Davis. He married Mary Jane Sampson June 30, 1956. Survivors include sons, James Davis of California, Patrick (Lora) Davis of Mount Clemens, Mich., Rick (Jennifer) Davis of Louisville, Ky., and George Davis of Columbus; and grandchildren, Naomi Davis, Corrine Davis, Kristine Davis, Joseph Davis, Lea Powell and Connor Powell. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 15, 2003, seven brothers, and four sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday with military rites conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
