Eugene W. Parker, 91, of Keith Drive, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Eugene was born June 25, 1924, in Kentucky, the son of William and Nettie Shirley Parker. He married F. Opal Parker January 3, 1953. Eugene served in the U.S. army during WW II in the 291st Battalion, Field and Artillery Division. After serving in the military, he worked on the pipelines in the southern states. He then moved to Louisville and worked in a foundry until he relocated to Columbus in 1963. Eugene worked construction until his retirement in 2010. Survivors include his son, Terry (Cheryl) Parker of Columbus; grandchildren, Nick, Derek and Chelsey Parker; and great-grandson, Owen Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Parker and Nettie Shirley Staples; his wife, F. Opal Parker; daughter, Peggy Parker; brothers, Willie and Dave Parker; several half-brothers and sisters; a nephew, Wayne Parker; and great-nephew, Andrew Parker.

To Uncle Genes family,i am so sorry to hear about,Uncle Genes , passing.I havent seen him,for several years.He was a very dear uncle.He was my daddy (R.T.Parkers)last sibling. GOD, bless you all,you are in my prayers.Love!
