Evelyn Louise Tays August 02, 1920 - October 11, 2009 Evelyn Louise Joslin Tays, 89, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Sylva, N.C., passed away October 11, 2009, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. The daughter of the late Clarence and Nelle King Joslin, she was born August 2, 1920, in Brown County, Indiana. She married Woodrow Tays Oct. 9, 1937. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1975. She also was preceded in death by two children, Thomas Lee and Bonnie Jaquline. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Routier of Edinburgh, and son, Charlie Tays of Sylva, North Carolina. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Rhonda Pendleton, Randy Routier, Robbin Henderson, Regan Hoevener, Wendy Baker, John Stults II, Dawn Miracle, Chad Jennings, Christina Stroud, LaManda Tays and Tara Tays. She had 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great- grandchildren. She also is survived by brothers, Lowell R. (Marcedes) Joslin of Edinburgh, Howard L. (Betty) Joslin of Cambridge City, and Herschell P. (Carol) Joslin of Brown County; and a sister, Mary Alice Roberts of Brown County. She was an avid doll collector and button collector. She enjoyed making quilts, picking blackberries, canning and cooking. She was the ultimate caregiver. She attended North Salem Methodist Church. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Hendershot officiating. CALLING: Will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Will be at Dobbs Cemetery in Brown County.
