Monday and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Our Hospice Of South Central Indiana or Willow Crossing Nursing Home for a staff appreciation luncheon. Frances E. (Perkins) Abner, 90 of Columbus, passed away at 12:30 A.M. Saturday August 23, 2014 in the Willow Crossing Nursing Home. She was born December 27, 1923 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late John and Nettie (Thomas) Perkins. Frances has lived in Columbus for most of her life. She married James A. Abner and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1992.She was a member of the Garden City Church of Christ and the Golden Harvesters of the church. Frances worked at babysitting, selling Avon, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and retired in 1979 from Cummins Engine Company. Frances leaves behind a daughter, Linda (Gary) Kremer of Indianapolis; 3 sons, Chilton (Donna) Abner of Seymour; Jerry (Jeannie) Abner of Columbus and James (Lisa) Abner of Columbus. Also surviving is a sister, Bessie Ruark of Gallatin, TN; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter Elizabeth Giles.
