Frances Nina Armstrong November 30, 1917 - May 20, 2008 Frances Nina Armstrong, 90, of Parkside Court died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana. Mrs. Armstrong was employed most of her working life by the Social Security Administration but also formerly worked at the Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance Center, Western Electric and the IRS. She was of the Presbyterian faith, was a member of the Elks Auxiliary and enjoyed playing golf, playing the lottery and line dancing. She was an avid I.U. and NASCAR fan. Born in Marion Nov. 30, 1917, Mrs. Armstrong was the daughter of L. Leroy and Zoe Belle Unthank Close. She married Harold Huck Smith Armstrong April 18, 1940. Survivors include a son, Lee R. (Maureen) Armstrong of South Hampton, Mass.; a daughter, Sue Ann (Bill) Linder of Columbus; grandchildren, Eric (Lori) Linder, Bill (Tammy) Linder, Mark (Amy) Armstrong and Doug Armstrong; and great-grandchildren, David, Anthony, Dominique and Donovan Linder and Kaitlyn Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 25, 1990; her parents; brothers, Robert, Leroy, Roger, Raymond and George Close; and sisters, Martha Carr and Betty Jo Pebbles. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from noon until service time Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Asbury United Methodist Church. FUNERAL: A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Styron Jr. officiating. INURNMENT: Inurnment will be at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the donors choice of charities.
