Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I worked on under Mike at Cummins Tech Center years ago. He was a wonderful boss! He was one who of the best. I liked him from day one. I am sorry to hear of his passing.

  2. Chris and Matt, my condolences to you and your families on your loss.

Your Dad, and Mom, were great people and positive influences. I have many fond memories of hanging out at your house after high school classes or on weekends and chatting with your folks as opportunities arose. Often, your dad was laying on the couch reading a book when we poured into your house. And over the years I learned about his varied interests in movies, painting, wildlife watching, and fast cars. I remember clearly two occasions when I let Mike test drive my sisters’ new cars which they had loaned me for the day, and my white knuckles as I gripped the door handle while he did 85 mph on the small road behind the house; he was not impressed with the acceleration of the Chrysler Laser turbo.

    Safe travels,
    Keith Pardieck

  3. Levi, I will miss your Grandfather, as he would drive up my drive to say hi when he came to the house on the hill. Some times he would have your grandmother with him and i thought they were fine people. So sorry for your loss. Phil Pugsley, Stevens Rd.

  4. We are so sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed talking with Mike when he would bring his cars in for service. He always had the best restaurant recommendations.

  5. Amazing intellect, curiosity and the closest to a photographic memory that I’ve experienced. As Levi said when he was 7, “Grandpa almost knows something about everything.” Mike took it as a compliment. He and I shared an interest in wildlife and have spent thousands (not exaggerating) of hours prowling refuges and back roads looking for eagles, skunks, cardinal flowers and mushrooms, etc, etc. His wiseguy sons have gotten the last word on family political differences by specifying charities that Mike would not approve of.

    • Dennis, thank you so very much for introducing me to Mike. I’m super sad about his passing. He was a kind, generous man. I’m glad I had the benefit of knowing him.

  6. On a flight to San Diego, it was Mike and me. I sat next to the window. He leaned over, cleared his throat and asked me, “Is there anyone following us?” I proceeded, like a dingbat, to look out the window and oh so seriously replied, “No, I don’t think so!” Very good people, both he & Gail.
