  1. Gary and his family lived next door to me and my family on 23rd & Caldwell Place for several years. He was 3 years younger than but we were good friends and were around each other almost daily. He always had a smile and great personality. We lost touch with each other when they moved across town but saw each other occasionally thru the years and he still had that smile and personality. He had a great life with being a fireman and a great family life also. My condolences to the family and all his friends.

    • My work probably put me in touch with Gary for almost every one of his 30 years with the Fire Department, especially those during his tenure as Fire Chief. He definitely deserves the moniker “Mr. Nice Guy.” Condolences to the family…and Chief Burris,”Thanks for being my friend!”
