Gervis E. "Brownie" Brown August 20, 1927 - March 07, 2007 Gervis E. Brownie Brown, 79, of East Base Road died at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday, March 7,2007, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Brown retired from Columbus Regional Hospital, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing bingo. Born in Metcalfe, Ky., Aug. 20, 1927, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of John Burton Wilson and Janie Jessie Wilson. She married the Rev. Carlis Brown Nov. 11, 1944. She is survived by sons, J.C. (Glenda) Brown of Columbus, Marvin Brown of Edinburgh and Roger Brown of Columbus; a daughter, Clorstine (Charles) Roberts of Columbus; a brother, the Rev. J.B. (Thelma) Wilson of Columbus; a sister, Edna Gregory of Lebanon; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, on Aug. 17, 2001; her parents; a son, Carlis Brown Jr.; daughters, Mary A. Brown and Christine Adams; and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
