Gladys Carol Harmon, age 67, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday October 14, 2020 at her home. She was born June 27, 1953 in Columbus to the late Marvin and Gladys Pauline (Holt) Petty.
Carol was a member and attended the Neighborhood Church of God in Nineveh. She was devoted to her family and loved to keep her home beautiful.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday October 16, 2020 in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh with Pastor Jim Albertson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in memory of Carol may be made to the Neighborhood Church of God through the funeral home.
Carol is survived by her son, Herman Ray “Bucky” (Kim) Norton, Jr. of Edinburgh; daughters, Donna Carol Norton-Neri of Columbus and Heather Norton of Edinburgh; her bonus daughter, Lisa Denson of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Marvin Petty, Jr and David Ray Petty and sisters, Pamela Sue Petty and Sharon Kay Petty.

I remember when her and uncle Herman lived across the road from us, I used to play cards with them. It had been a while since I got to see your mom, my prayers are with you all, so sorry for your loss, may God comfort you all during this time and the future
O my goodness I am so so so sorry this has just broken my heart she was an amazing beautiful woman it just made me so sad to see this I wish I had of know she sure loves her family and her smile could light up a huge room for sure I am truly so very sorry for you all sending prayers huge hugs and lots of love to you all love Susie now girls I wonder what your mom and my mom are talking about up there you know it has to be how sweet all of there children are again this breaks my heart love Susie
