Glenda Marlene Carr

Glenda M. Carr, 85, left those she loved on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Glenda was born March 20, 1933, at home in the St. Paul, Indiana, area to Ruby “Ruth” (Anderson) Johnston and Esley “Jack” Johnston. She worked at South Decatur Elementary from 1984 until her retirement in 2002. Glenda had several different jobs over her lifetime at several dress factories and the RCA company, just to name a few. Glenda was blessed with five children, Dorothea Harris of Westport, Linda Carr-Okey of Greensburg, Albert Carr of Nashville, Jeffery (Kathy) Foist of Freetown and Ronald (Melissa) Foist of Columbus; a brother, Ernest Wayne Johnston of Greensburg; and a sister, Noretta (Adam) Smith of Scipio. Glenda has 20 grandchildren that live in Indiana and Tennessee, as well as a great number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, all loving her as much as she loved them dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Tressa Harris. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday.  Burial will be at Westport Cemetery.
