Grace Marie Howe, 88, formerly of Columbus, passed away February 4, 2024 in Fishers. Grace was born April 6, 1935 in Freetown, the daughter of Lester and Edna Forgey Denny. She married Dale Howe on September 14, 1962. They spent 41 wonderful years together before his passing on May 31, 2004. Grace was a longtime member of Newbern United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed helping in the kitchen for many of the events that took place. She worked for Stanley Home Products for over 25 years, where she made many friends and acquaintances throughout the years. Grace was a very social individual, and loved playing cards and other various games with her friends. She also enjoyed sewing, often making blankets that she would give to her family. Most of all, Grace loved spending time with her family. They were the most important thing in her life. She will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Snodgrass officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Grace will be interred next to her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/donate) or to Newbern United Methodist Church thru the funeral home. Grace is survived by daughters Janet (Doug) Valmore of Fishers and Leigh Ann Howe of Carmel; as well as grandchildren Lauren and Cameron Valmore. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale on May 31, 2004; as well as sisters Kathleen Beck, Mary Alice Matthews, and Jean Meyer.

    • Sorry to hear of the passing of Grace. I had a lot of fond memories going to her Stanley Bingo parties. The goodies she always made for the party was wonderful. May God comfort her family during this difficult time.
