Harold "Mac" McNicholas

Harold Edward “Mac” McNicholas, 72, of Hope, passed away after an extended illness at 2:21 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home. Mac was born in Columbus on May 16, 1951 to Maurice McNicholas and Alvera Oliphant McNicholas. He married Tina Marie Mullikin on May 9, 1974. Mac retired from Arvin Industries after 37 years of service. After retirement from Arvin’s, he was employed for several years at Hope Summer Playground. He loved bowling and mushroom hunting. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Mac will be laid to rest beside his wife Tina at Haw Creek Cemetery in Hope. Survivors include his sons, Gavin (Cristina) McNicholas, Jayson “Jay” (Rachel) McNicholas, Josh (Cheryl) McNicholas, Joey (Talara) McNicholas and Carl McNicholas; a daughter, Carrie Jackson; brother, Robert (Leigh) McNicholas; sister, Kathy Dobbs; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tina McNicholas and a brother, Mike McNicholas.
