SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home. OFFICIANT: Rev. Glenn Poynter FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday. MEMORIALS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Harold L. Stratton, 84, of State Road 46, died at 12:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon. Harold retired from Cosco in 1989 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 35 years and song leader. He loved to mow lawns and do other yard work and loved going on vacation together with his family. Born in Muncie, Sept. 15, 1928, Harold was the son of Clarence and Elizabeth Stratton. He married Jeanette Newland July 2, 1950. She survives. Other survivors include granddaughters, Shila Johnson and Leann (Jessie) Campos, all of Columbus, IN; great-granddaughters, Ashley Porter, Brittany Porter and Casey Johnson, all of Columbus, IN; a sister, Frances Knox, Angola, IN; a niece, Kelly (George) Boots, Greenwood, IN; a nephew, Jeff Harris, Columbus, IN; and a sister-in-law, Linda (Lance) Adams, Columbus, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Potter; and a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Porter.
