Hector Ramires

Hector Ramires, 74, of Clifty Drive, died at 4:30 a.m. September 16, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Hector was born September 4, 1944, in Monterey, Mexico, the son of Pasquel Ramires and Carmen Vasquez.  He married Peggy Anderson September 15, 1973. He retired from Dolly Madison Bakery and had previously worked for Stadler Packing Company. He loved fishing and was a professional boxer in his earlier years. The funeral will be conducted at 1p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association in memory of Hector. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; sons, Hector Ramires, Jr. of Columbus and Carlos (Melinda) Ramires of Seymour; daughters, Regina (Richard) Burton, Melissa Harris-Pedigo and Madline (Scott) Brown, all of Columbus; brothers, Antonio (Alicia) Vasquez of Columbus and Juan Ramires of Monterey, Mexico and sister, Maria Vasquez of Reynosa, Mexico; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Ramires and Francisca Ramires; grandson, Landyn Scott Brown; and two great-grandchildren.
