SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Saint Peters Lutheran Church OFFICIATING: Pastor Patrick Galligar and Larry Klebenow FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Saint Peters Lutheran Church Care Ministry, Saint Peters Lutheran School or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Helen Louise Dettmer, 93, of Chapa Drive, died at 6 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Helen was born July 10, 1922, in Columbus, the daughter of William and Ida Michael Meyer. She married Carl Henry Dettmer July 7, 1947. Helen was a homemaker but had worked at Reeves Pulley for the war effort. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she was active in the Sewing Circle and previously served as chairman of the Sewing Committee. She was also a member of the Tabatha Guild and Mary Martha Circle at the church and also served as a 4-H leader. Survivors include her son, Randy (Rita) Dettmer of Columbus; daughter, Barb (Mike) Feltner of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeff (Jenni) Dettmer, Carla (Matt) Harden, Mandy (Brad) Helt, Lesleigh (Darren) Groce and Lynley (Ricky) Roberts; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Dettmer, Jonathon Dettmer, Jaclyn Dettmer, Sarah Helt, Ben Helt, Leah Harden, Coryn Harden, Lauryn Groce, Emily Groce, Abby Groce, Lydia Feltner, Noah Feltner, Maeleigh Roberts, McCartney Roberts, and Kloe Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carl.






Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Barb you were an amazing daughter and the love and care you gave your mother was such a blessing. She is smiling down on you. We love you.
