Hilda M. Flowers Blanford April 26, 1936 - July 08, 2009 Hilda M. Flowers Blanford, 73, of Fox Trail Lane died at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Blanford worked at Columbus Regional Hospital 43 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) and St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Mrs. Blanford and her husband were foster parents in Bartholomew County for 23 years. Born in Ewing, Va., April 26, 1936, Mrs. Blanford was the daughter of Irvin and Bashie Ayers Flowers. She married William Blanford Sept. 6, 1952. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2003. Survivors include sons, W. Thomas (Linda) Blanford of Seymour and Timothy Blanford of Columbus; daughters, Debbie D. Blanford, Beverly (Wayne) Bickell, Cheryl (Bob) Romine and Pamela Cook, all of Columbus; a sister, LeAnn Frodge of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Glen Blanford on Oct. 30, 2002; a brother, John Flowers; and a sister, Sharon Flowers. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. VISITATION: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
