She married Arlie Hounshell on Sept. 22, 1951.She was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, gardening and watching birds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter and Ronnie Hampton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.Survivors include her son, Tommy Joe (Karen) Hounshell of Columbus; brothers, H.C. Adams of Columbus, Wallace (Jeanett) Adams of Peoga, Jimmy (Joyce) Adams of Taylorsville and David Adams of Shelbyville; sisters, Hila (Mike) Illing of Dillsboro, Anna Zieleniuk of Columbus, Emily (Al) Stidham of Columbus and Linda (Sonny) Brown of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Kathy Hounshell, Jessica Popplewell, Carla Boyken, Jason Hounshell, Amanda Rork, Jerry Hounshell, Andy Hounshell and Jack Avery Hounshell; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie, on Jan. 7, 1996; sons, Ronnie Wayne and Jackie Lloyd Hounshell; a daughter, Sandra Fields; brothers, F.C. Adams and Roger Adams; and sisters, Sue Carol Durean and Sarah Bennett.
