Illene Strout March 13, 1920 - May 09, 2010 Mrs. Illene Strout, 90, of Friendship Church Road, Boone, N.C., a former resident of Appalachian Brian Estate, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Strout was born March 13, 1920, in Clear Lake, Iowa, a daughter of the late Daniel Wesley Radcliff and Joda Durnil Radcliff. She was a retired beautician and a member of Foscoe Christian Church. She was also a member of Canton Christian Church in Salem, Indiana. Mrs. Strout is survived by daughter, Nena Alsaker and husband Roger of Boone; son, Larry Knapp and wife Peggy Ann of Palm Bay, Florida; stepdaughter, Joyce Robertson and husband Gary of Columbus, Indiana; sister, Mildred McMahon of Franklin, Indiana; brother, Lloyd Radcliff and wife Rosemary of Scottsburg, Indiana; two granddaughters, Shelley Lewis of Riverview, Florida, and Kelly Knapp of Palm Bay, Florida, and three grandsons, Brad Robertson, Randy Robertson and Cory Robertson, all of Indianapolis. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Bozell; her second husband, Willard Strout; her father and mother, Daniel Wesley Radcliff and Joda Durnil Radcliff; three sisters; and three brothers. Hampton Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements with local arrangements through Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Foscoe Christian Church. The body will lie in state at the church, from 5 until 6 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Burks. (LOCAL)FUNERAL SERVICE WITH CALLING: Friday afternoon, May 14, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Old Union United Church of Christ near Edinburgh, with calling one hour prior to the service at the church.
