Irene Olaf Wagner, 94, of Columbus, Indiana, went to meet her Lord on October 31, 2010. Born July 14, 1916, in Indianapolis, the fifth child of Kerr Khan K.K. and Flora Zeller Miller, she was the last living member of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Irene grew up in Indianapolis and attended Washington High School. During the Depression, her family moved to Brown County where she attended Helmsburg High School and, later, to Bartholomew County where she attended Columbus High School and met the love of her life, Lawrence K. Wagner.
Irene and Lawrence were married November 7, 1936, in Columbus. She lived the next 70 years in Columbus and she and Lawrence raised five children: Larry (Becky) of Carmel, Richard (Mary Ann) of Indianapolis, the late Edward L. (Jean) of Evansville, JoAnn McMichael (Larry) of Fort Wayne and Keith (Kathy) of Cincinnati. Irene enjoyed her 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
