Iris G. Stickan Hayworth, 94, of 26th Street died at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Hayworth was a member of East Columbus Christian Church and worked at Arvin Industries for three years. She was a Girl Scout leader and den mother, enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time outdoors.
Born in Nashville Sept. 25, 1914, Mrs. Hayworth was the daughter of Sandy W. and Ivy Hampton Roberts. She first married Donald H. Stickan. He preceded her in death in 1976. She married Archie R. Hayworth July 25, 1985. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon L. (Terry) Collier of Martinsville; a son, Michael J. (Gayle) Stickan of Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren, Eric Stickan, Lora Jones, Dana Stickans, Michael Joseph Stickans, Bryan Collier, Leslie Walther and Jane Millsaps; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and sons, Damon L. Stickan and Donald L. Stickan.
Funeral Information
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating.
VISITATION: noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
