Iva M. Rutherford

Iva M. Rutherford, 99, of Grand Avenue, died at 6:05a.m. October 27, 2017, at her home. Iva was born July 7, 1918, in Canistota, South Dakota, the daughter of Lloyd and Winnie May Arno Tarrell. She retired from Madison State Hospital after 30 years as a care giver. She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church and loved her church family. Iva enjoyed traveling, music and spending time with her family. She loved to spend time at her son Lloyd’s cabin in Wisconsin. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Uniontown Baptist Church, Crothersville, with Pastor Irvin Benge officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Uniontown Baptist Church Building Fund. Survivors include her sons, Lloyd Adams of Minong, Wisconsin and Marlin (Shirley) Adams of Columbus; a daughter, Carol Elliott of Orleans; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Clifford Andrew Adams, Bernard Heilman and Herman Rutherford; son, Stanley L. Adams; daughter, Betty Wiggins; brothers, Ernest Tarrell and Walter Tarrell; and sisters, Betty Parry and Lois Roach-Weiland.

Marlin, Carol and family. We are sending our deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your Mother. I am so sad that I could not make the trip out there but please know I am with you in spirit as you go through this difficult time. I so enjoyed Aunt Iva and feel so Blessed to have gotten to know her! What a beautiful tribute video! It left tears in my eyes! I even recognized lots of pictures from Mom & Dads house and of course the Blue Bunny truck. We are sending our thoughts, sympathy, prayers and hugs to you all. God Bless Aunt Iva!!
