FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 1306 27th St. Columbus, IN 47201 with the Father Marty Peter officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Services, Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department, or the Columbus Township Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home. Jack Henry Whipker, 18, of South County Road 250E, died at 1:51 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at IU Methodist Hospital. Jack was born November 9, 1995, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Henry J. and Kathleen Haza Whipker. Jack had previously worked at Whipker's Market but was currently farming with his dad and working at Lowe's. Jack was also an entrepreneur and worked with Keaton Foist buying and refurbishing vehicles to sell. He was a volunteer with the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department, loved hunting, and fishing. He had played football at Columbus East High School. Survivors include his father, Henry J. Whipker; mother, Kathleen Haza Whipker; brother, Trevor Dylan Whipker; sister, McKenna Rose Whipker; son, Henry Allen Whipker; Henry Allen Whipker's mother, Grace Emily Arbuckle, all of Columbus. Jack is also survived by aunts and uncles, Mary Ann (Dr. Stan) Adkins; Colin (Joni) Haza; Kim (Debra) Haza; Kevin Haza; Craig (Jane) Haza; Keith (Lisa) Haza; Kelly Haza; Karen (Dale) Colliver; and several great-aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hershel and Emma Whipker and Eugene and Naomi Haza.
