  1. Betty, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug would always yell “hello” to me whenever he saw me. I will miss his smiling face.

  2. I only knew Mr. Arthur during his time at The Phillips Company. I did not even know his name until I saw his photo in the paper. I am a retired truck driver as well driving a box truck part-time as Mr. Arthur was. He was always very cordial and a delight to talk to each time our paths crossed. We would instinctively gang up and exchange barbs with his employer Viron Phillips each time we got together. Always a pleasure to talk with, will miss him. Glad to know I will see him again someday throughout eternity!

  3. Betty and Dougie: Sharon and I are so very sorry for your loss. We know the hardship all to well. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. Please keep in contact as we will do the same.Love ya’ll very much, Mr.& Mrs. James O. Arthur Sr. (Jimmy)

  4. Betty, Doug, Sherry and family- so sorry for your loss so suddenly. just want you to know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. hugs to you all.

  5. Betty, I don’t know if you remember me,I went to school with Rosie. I’m so sorry to read about Doug’s passing. Your in my thought’s and prayer’s Jeri Goecker

  6. Dear Doug, First I very sad to hear of your passing, I am equally sad that such time and distance has separated loved ones. I would like you to know that you have always been a special person to me. You had much confidence in me when I was lacking it. Your directions N S E and W have been with me many miles and not many weeks pass that I don’t remember you hauling watermelons from Florida, and giving out those life lessons. Those were the days, and even though I didn’t realize it, I do now. You always supported me even though we had different views on things, thank you for that. Much of this thank you is coming from the heart of a scared, and confused teenager and young adult. I appreciate the impact you have had on me. I’m very sad I can’t be there to see you all, but I send all the love a heart can hold. Always, Karla

  7. Doug&Sherry So Sorry to hear about Doug Sr. I have a lot of fond memories when we hung out in highschool. He was special, always made you feel welcome. Thoughts and prayers, Jill

  8. Doug,Sherry and Betty, I’m so sorry for your loss. I just spoke to Doug and Betty while they were shopping at Kohl’s earlier this month. Both of my daughters, Amanda and Sarah Linke, just happened to be in the store. Amanda remembered them both and was surprised and happy to see them. My prayers are with your entire family during this difficult time. Kay

  9. Miss A, (The only name I ever heard Doug call you!), it has been such an honor and pleasure to serve and get to know the 2 of you through our Friday morning visits. Thank you for calling and letting us know of Doug’s passing, you are too sweet to think of us at this time. We will all miss him so very much, his laugh & lively chat were always enough to start a perfect day for me! Lori & I hope to see you soon for lunch. I so enjoyed the video on this site, what a wonderful life shared with each other you have had. Prayers and thoughts are with you. Love, Debbie & the OG staff.
