James F. Wilson October 29, 1933 - December 18, 2007 James F. Wilson, 74, of Maple Street died at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Wilson was self employed from 1960 to 1969 then worked for Cummins Engine Co. for 29 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Kentucky and attended Lowell General Baptist Church. A loving husband, father and brother, he loved attending church, hunting, fishing, bowling and playing music. Born in Adair County, Ky on October 29, 1933., Mr. Wilson was the son of Henry V. and Bertha M. Shirley Wilson. He married Laverne Byrd Nov. 7, 1953. Survivors include his wife; sons, Terry (Paula) Wilson of Akron, Ohio, Stevan Wilson of North Vernon and Christopher (Laurel) Wilson of Columbus; a daughter, Teresa (Arvil) Marton of Columbus; a brother, Freemon (Joyce) Wilson of Athens, Ala.; sisters, Delsia Hogan of Park City, Ky., Jannoice Lewis and Shirley Wilson, both of Columbus; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
