James H. Branum, 71, of Fairview Drive, died at 5:58 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Branum was a retired laborer with Local No. 741. He loved fishing and hunting. Born June 17, 1940, near Stone Branch in Knox County, Ky., Mr. Branum was the son of James Frank Branum and Louisa Farmer Branum. He is survived by sons, Walter (Cheryl) Branum of Pierron, Ill., and Fred (Kim) Newland of Columbus; daughters, Rita (Randy) Brodfuehrer, Teresa Petro and Crystal (Kenny) King, all of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rick Patton; six brothers; seven sisters; and one great-grandchild. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 29, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Branum officiating. VISITATION: Noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
