James S. Johnson, age 77, of Columbus passed away at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday January 15, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born January 9, 1942 in Madison and he has resided in Columbus for most of his life. Jim served his country during the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army. He retired from the Golden Foundry after 37 years of service and was a member of the Moose Lodge # 398, the American Legion Post 24 and the Eagles Aeries 741. Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. (Gibson) Johnson whom he married on December 30, 1963; a son, James R. Johnson of Columbus and a sister Frances Delores Pattingill of Petersville. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation was chosen per Jim’s request. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana 2626 E. 17th Street Columbus, Indiana 47201.   1. We will miss Mr. Johnson very much. He was a treasured neighbor and we truly appreciated him watching over our corners. His smiles and friendly waves were bright spots in our days. And his garden and yard were sites to behold! Prayers for and comfort to Mrs. Johnson and James.
