Jarrett, 59, of Edinburgh, passed away peacefully at his home December 11, 2016. Jay was born October 4, 1957, in Columbus, the son of Max and Darrah Jarrett. He graduated from Lapel High School. Jay was married on October 15, 1983, to Paula L. Perry and they spent a loving 33 years together. He worked at Nagakura and had previously worked at CJR with his father. Jay was a volunteer firefighter for German Township Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and sports enthusiast. Jay is survived by his wife, Paula Jarrett; children, Ryan Jarrett and Kayla Jarrett, both of Columbus; a sister, Rita Jarrett of Columbus; and grandchildren, Conner Monroe Buck and Raelyn Marie Jo Bryant. Jay was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Boles officiating. Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or German Township Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
