FUNERAL: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeff Boriss officiating. VISITATION: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society. Jeaney Daily, 68, of Westenedge Drive, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Jeaney was born October 14, 1946, on a military based in Salzburg, Austria, the daughter of Albert Sebert and Kathryana Scherbakova Hignite. She married Steven Joseph Daily September 30, 1984. Jeaney was a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School. She had lived in New York City for five years, worked for Ziff Davis Publishing and even attended Woodstock. She earned her real estate license in 1978 and had worked as a Realtor until the present day. Jeaney volunteered as an architectural tour guide at the Columbus Visitor's Center and supported Columbus North High School athletic programs. She delighted in making fruit pizzas for everyone and loved to organize parties. Jeaney also loved tie-dye and displayed hangings on the walls and ceilings of her home. At Christmas, Jeaney and her family would drive around looking at lights and singing Christmas carols. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and loved ones. Jeaney was one of a kind, caring and thinking of others, trying to do what's best for them whether they liked it or not. She lived by her favorite quote from Mahatma Ghandi, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Survivors include her husband, Steven; son, Kyle Hager (Courtney) Daily of Wheaton, Illinois; father-in-law, Joseph Daily of Columbus; brother, James (Joyce) Hignite of Ashtabula, Ohio; and nieces and nephews, Adam, Robin and Scott Hignite, Sarah and Amie Kenny, and Kate Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

  1. My heart if filled with sadness. The world has lost a great lady. So full of love, compassion, loyalty and laughter. I am so sorry to see her go. My prayers are with Steven and Kyle.

  3. So sorry to hear about Jeanie’s passing. We have fond memories of her at our Halloween parties and many Christmas dinners. we will miss her smile and cheerful voice. Very nice video – pictures. cried!!
