Jeanne E. Artis December 22, 1944 - February 01, 2010 Jeanne E. Artis, 65, of Elizabethtown, died at 3:56 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Artis was a former pharmacy tech at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was interested in the ministry, was a charter member of Gil Hawkes Ministry and enjoyed attending church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching westerns on TV and fishing, and loved horses, especially her horse Princess. Born in Columbus Dec. 22, 1944, Mrs. Artis was the daughter of Garlen and Mary Smith Moore. She married Richard L. Artis Jan. 5, 1963. Survivors include her husband; sons, Richard Troy (Tyffani) Artis of Columbus and Jason Scott Artis of Elizabethtown; daughters, Jena K. (Tony) Olivera of North Vernon and Cheryl L. (Greg) Hall of Columbus; grandchildren, Seth, Caitlin and Philip Artis, Adam Likens, Payton Olivera, Daniel and Dustin Carmer and Hali and Samantha Artis; a brother, Jon (Nancy) Moore of Columbus; and a sister, Garlene (Bill) Weisner of Columbus. She was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Wayne Artis. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Gil Hawkes and the Rev. Amy Artis officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from noon until service time Friday. BURIAL: Springer Cemetery.
