Jerry Lee (Harper) Jacobson, 69, of Taylorsville, IN, passed away June 1, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1955. He grew up in Orange, CA and finished high school in Georgetown, KY. Jerry joined the Air Force before earning his Associates Degree at the University of Kentucky. He married Brenda Froedge on April 5, 2003. Jerry's career spanned an impressive 40 years in the trucking and logistics industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Jerry's pride and joy, apart from his family, was his 1969 Triumph Motorcycle. Jerry's motorcycle was more than a hobby; it was a symbol of his appreciation for craftsmanship and a nod to his adventurous spirit. He was an avid sports fan who loved cheering for the University of Kentucky basketball team and the LA Dodgers. Fishing was another of Jerry's cherished pastimes. He found solace in the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the catch. Jerry loved spending time with his family and his dog Trouble. His role as a papaw was one he cherished with every fiber of his being. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he devoted countless hours to creating memories that would last a lifetime. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. Friday. Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jacobson; children, Harper Grace Jacobson, Matthew (Kelsey) Jacobson, Christy (Jerry Jr.) Reed, Kirsten (Krystal) Poff, Casey (Justin) Mathis; grandchildren, Brooks and Ella Jacobson, Nathaniel and Braxton Cowan, Jerry III, Natalie, and Kaydentz Reed, Shyann Poff, Mackenzie, Mason, Maddox, Micah and baby girl Mathis; siblings, Carolyn Harper Rorie, Suellen Harper Ison, Nancy Anne Harper, Lillice Harper Hartley, Mary Elaine (Jerry) Haley Thomas, Genee (Loren) Jacobson Wilson, Nanette (Scott) Jacobson Garmon. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and LaRee Jacobson; siblings, Lance Harper, Doug Harper, Mark Jacobson, Terry Eileen Harper and Patrisha Harper Shepherd.
