Jo Ann Brooks, 77, of Columbus, died at 9:41 p.m., May 24, 2022, at IU Methodist in Indianapolis.
Jo Ann was born November 6, 1944, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Alvera (Stuehrenberg) Brooks. She married Charles Richard Brooks on April 4, 1964. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2022.
Calling will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. The burial will be private.
Survivors include sons, Steven (Yanshuang) Brooks of Vancouver, WA, and Greg (Nicole) Brooks of Hope, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Jo Ann and I were classmates at Jac- Cen-Del. I was sad to hear of her passing. We had corresponded recently . I was wanting to plan a time and place to visit her. I also live in Columbus. The family may want this note as a memory of her last weeks. I will copy the note she wrote to me and mail it to her address. This will have to wait until Monday because my printer stopped working. I will have a new one Monday.
My health is not much better than JoAnn’s. That is why I could not be there this morning, or there for Richard’s. I grew up in Osgood and know the Brooks family well.
I am praying for all of JoAnn’s family.
