Joanne Stephens

Joanne Stephens, 70, of Columbus, died at 11:50 a.m. at her home on March 20, 2023. Joanne was born February 12, 1953, in Port Neches, Texas, the daughter of Travis Farris and Peggy Decuir Farris. She Married Clifford Stephens on February 14, 1981. Joanne enjoyed cookouts with her family and loved to watch western TV shows (Grit TV). She always loved doing word searches and watching game shows. She enjoyed taking trips to the beach or lake. She was a workaholic and loved her fellow employees. Her favorite past-time was playing cards with her husband though he would “cheat to win and cheat to lose”. The funeral will be at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. To honor Joanne’s wishes cremation was chosen. Survivors include her father, Travis Farris; sons, Clifford (Sherri) Stephens of Kentucky, Melvin Stephens, Phillip Stephens of Columbus, and Lloyd (Katelin) Breaux of Columbus; daughters, Tammie (Raymond) Gollihare of Texas, Dorothy (Gerald) Lasseigne of Texas, Jayanne (Butch) Martin of Texas, Janie (William) McNeal of Columbus; brother, Glen (Brenda) Farris of Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and beloved furball Ollie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Stephens; mother, Peggy Decuir Farris; and daughter, Bonnie Theriot Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
