Joe Allen Worton
January 24, 1961 ~ November 1, 2022
Joe Allen Worton, 61, of Greensburg, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Monday, November 1st, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Joe was the son of the late Jesse James Worton and Lois Broshears Miller, and was born on January 24, 1961. Joe was united in marriage to Lorretta Faye Meece on July 3, 1984.
Joe lived his life first and foremost by the grace of God. The epitome of what a Christian should be, and how they should live their life on a daily basis. His memory will not only be remembered by his family, but by the countless lives that he touched through his time as a minister; going above and beyond to help anyone that may be in need, and to spread the word of God. Joe served as a traveling minister, and was a member of the Fishers of Men gospel group. His life was surrounded by his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed Nascar, building model cars and was also an accomplished music artist and author, publishing two of his own books and writing several songs.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory, and carry his love to others including his wife, Faye Worton; his son, Sebert Worton; daughters, Alisha Worton, Tabitha (Lenny) Jessie, Brittany (Jono) Wheeler, and Haley (Alex) Childers. Also surviving Joe his 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers; William (Becky) Worton, and Mike (Shelley) Worton; his sisters, Janice Jeffares, Denise (Ken) Mitchell, Joyce (David) Denton, and Amy Labadie. Numerous family members and friends also survive Joe, we would all be remiss if his four-legged companion, Libby was not mentioned.
Preceding Joe includes his parents and two grandchildren, Brayden Jessie and Malorie Childers and daughter-in-law Melissa Worton.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus, with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating.
