FUNERAL: Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Coleman officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Will be at Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. John M. Hensley, 79, of East Karlsway Drive, died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Manchester, Kentucky, September 25, 1934, the son of the late Estel and Myrtle Rice Hensley. He married Leona Singleton on February 16, 1959, and she survives. John was employed at Columbus Regional Hospital as a valet. He enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR. He loved old trucks, grilling, and especially family gatherings. In addition to his wife, John is also survived by sons, Steven Hensley of Oregon, Ron (Carolyn) Hensley of North Vernon, and Craig Hensley of Columbus; daughters, Sharon (James) Benvie of Oregon, Vicki (Darrell) Fitzgerald of Columbia, S.C., Crystal Hensley of North Vernon, and Regina Hensley of Columbia, S.C.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Mullins of Erlanger, Ky. John was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
