Jonathan Wayne White, 53, of Seymour, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at his home. He was born May 3, 1971, in Columbus, the son of Robert Henry White, Jr. and Gloria Young White.
Johnny, as he was known growing up, graduated from Columbus East High School and had been employed as a carpenter in the construction industry. He is survived by his daughter, Reyianna White; brother, Robert White III and 4 grandchildren. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Newton White, and a sister, Gail Burton.
No services will be held. Cremation was chosen. Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Johnny and his family. Condolences and special memories of Johnny may be shared on this website.

I had known Shorty since I was a child. I saw him hard at work at the waffle house back in those days. It was our family tradition to go there every Sunday. My dad liked to chat with him and joke around. More recently he had become a regular at the pet store I work at. He was kind and very appreciative of the help we gave him whenever he came in. He was in just a few days before he passed. He told me all about his recent surgery and I held open the door for him as he was leaving. I told him I’ll see you next time and he squeezed my hand. He told me he would be back June third for more treats for his dog. A week after that another customer came in and told us the news. We were heart broken to hear that he had passed. May he be at peace and enjoying his afterlife. Bless you Shorty!
