Joseph Bosley Jr., departed this life Friday, January 25, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital, in Columbus, IN, at 9:30 p.m. He was born on May 22, 1933, in Natchez, MS, the son of Joseph Bosley Sr., and Carrie (Bernard) Bosley. He was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Sam. However, he is survived by three sisters, Ruby (C.W.) Wilson, Natchez, MS; Marie (Abdur-Rahim) Rashada, Saginaw, MI; and Deloris Brooks, Memphis, TN; as well as a cousin, Percy (Bertha) Bernard, Natchez, MS, who was like a brother. Drafted into military service during the Korean War, he served in the U S. Army. Following his honorable discharge from the military he was married to Leotha (Bell) Bosley of Batesville, MS, who preceded him in death. The couple resided in Cincinnati, Ohio. After many years of dedicated service, Joseph retired from employment with the Service Steel Company and the Cincinnati Association for the Blind. He was also a faithful deacon to Refuge Temple Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, under the ministry of the late Bishop Owen L. Carter. Following the death of his first wife, he was joined in union to Louise (Little) Bosley. She also preceded him in death. Joseph leaves to celebrate his life eight children, Clyde (Alma) Fleming, Natchez, MS; Joseph M. Bosley; David (Charlene) Bosley, Columbus, IN; Thomas (Frances) Bosley, Stone Mountain, GA; Timothy (Kay) Bosley, Columbus, IN; Patricia (Rick) Evans, Indianapolis, IN; Kathleen (Tony) Hankins, Cincinnati, OH; and Samuel (Toni) Bosley, Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, Shunketa, Katherine, Jennifer, Celeste, Lorenzo, Ishmael, Joshua, David, Khiry, Christen, Brooke, Donovan, Mecca, Medina, Blaire, Dexter, Zion, Shiloh, Brandon, River, Arielle, and Brenna; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
