Josephine Marie McMillian October 21, 1947 - November 18, 2007 Josephine Marie Lowe McMillian, 60, of Maple Street died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. McMillian attended school in Brown County and graduated from Columbus High School. She was employed at Extendicare Nursing Home and later worked in the dietary department at Four Seasons Retirement Center. She enjoyed word-search puzzles and watching television. A devoted mother and grandmother, her grandchildren were her happiness and she spent many hours taking care of them. She was known by many as Mamaw Jo. Born in Seymour Oct. 21, 1947, Mrs. McMillian was the daughter of Hubert Arnold and Elsie Marie Rains Lowe. She is survived by her mother, of Columbus; a daughter, Shannon Michele (Michael) McMillian Purdue of Columbus; grandchildren, Michaela, Ashley, Rachel and Brittany Barton; stepgrandchildren, Allison, James and Samantha Purdue; sisters, Gladys (Bill) Lovins, Clodean Pendleton and Ann (Rick) Jackson, all of Columbus and Perna (Ron) Reed of Clarksville, TN; and brothers, Willard (Barbara) Lowe, Hubert (Sally) Lowe, Allen Lowe and Don (Brenda) Lowe, all of Columbus, and Harley (Jan) Lowe of Alcoa, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Dawn Marie McMillian; a sister, Jane Colleen Lowe; and a brother, Ernie Lowe. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 and from noon until service time Wednesday. FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. When i lived in Columbus i didnt know that much about my dads sisters like my aunt Josephine.She was always nice to me whats sad is my dads side i lost Aunt Josephine,james,cousin Tonys mom.Grandma,my dads youngest brother.I also have an aunt who died i behieve 1999 or 2000 around that time period.Never met my grandpa he died in 1963.on my moms side a bunch of aunts and uncles died.Last i checked cousin Tony moved to Canada i havent talked to him at least maybe 10 years or longer.I eventualy plan to visit indiana again when iget decent transportation.I want my relatives in indiana to know i have been thinking about them.If you see this message call me sometime stay in contact
