Joyce G. Gwin

Joyce was born March 28, 1941, in Matewan, West Virginia, the daughter of Cloyd E. and Kathryn M. Davis Damron. She married Robert Gwin December 27, 1955. She was born in West Virginia, but lived most of her life in Columbus. Joyce was a member of Revival Tabernacle Church in Clifford and loved going to church. She enjoyed reading, travel, eating out and going through family picture albums. She especially loved her pet dog, “Rita Kay”. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Eli Johnson and Glenn Poynter officiating. Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Daugherty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter, Mary R. (Randy) Bailey of Columbus; sister, Donna R. Parsley of Fallan, Nevada; half-sister, Cathy Deskins of Dell Barton, West Virginia; and grandchildren, Robert L. (Brooke) Bowers, Caleb D. Bowers, Elijah L. Anderson, Carrie N. Gwin and Sarah E. (Trent) Miller; a daughter-in-law, Connie Gwin and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James R. Gwin.
