Juanita Wesley, 93, of Columbus, passed away on May 15, 2020 at her home. Juanita was born December 4, 1926 in Kentucky, the daughter of Mitchell and Gracie Acey Wesley. She married Jacob F. Wesley on December 10, 1946. Juanita enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and reading her Bible. She especially loved getting together with all her family and neighbors, visiting and singing, and just enjoying each other’s company. The funeral will be Tuesday May 19, 2020 with Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charities. Survivors include her children G. Carolyn (Dan) Hagemier of Edinburgh, Harrell (Connie S.) Wesley of Brown County, Regina K. (Henry) Phelps and Donita J. (Mark) Clemmons both of Columbus, and Cleta M. (Clint) Maggard of Springville, Indiana; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; as well as sisters Catherine Ellison of Mt. Olive, Kentucky, Cora Mae Holder of Argyle, Kentucky, and Mary Emerson of Somerset, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jacob on October 22, 2014; a son M. Ferrell Wesley; a daughter-in-law Becky Wesley; grandchildren Michael and Cynthia Wesley, Michael Scott Phelps and Michael Gene Brown; brothers Vestal and Velber Randolph, William, Delbert, and James Wesley; as well as sisters Laura Roberts and Audrey Foster.

    • I’m so sorry to hear Aunt Juanita had passed away. I have so many wonderful memories of her. I spent so much of my childhood and teenage years with her. She would make me oatmeal cakes when I came to visit. Every time I make one , I think of her. She will always be in my heart. I love all of you and please know I’m praying for you all and love you so much! Mom is also.
