SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Keith Hosey and Father Clem Davis officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. INURNMENT: Oaklawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home. Judith A. Chapman, 85, of Columbus, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away, Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Judy was born March 23, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Robert E. and Regina Gross King. She married Marvin R. Chapman on October 14, 1950. Judy was an artist, painting in watercolors and oils. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the Mill Race Center. Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed reading and doing needlework. She also enjoyed playing bridge, euchre and socializing with her longtime friends. Judy especially loved traveling with her husband and their dogs in their motor home. Survivors include her husband, Marvin R. Chapman of Columbus; daughters, Linda (Gregory Commons) Chapman of Alexandria, Virginia, Lisa (David) Vincent of Columbus and Julie Chadwick of St. Charles, Illinois; sons, Jeffrey Chapman and Ross Chapman, both of Ft. Wayne; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert E. and Regina Gross King; brother, Robert J. King; and sister, Mary Ellen Rublee.

  3. I worked for Marvin several years and got to know Judy. She was always very kind and sweet to me and even got me a job at the lawnmower shop in Carmel. I, Kathy and the girls want to give our condolences to the family.
