Judith Alice Pedigo, 81, Columbus, passed away after a brief illness on March 26, 2026, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Pedigo was born on November 14, 1944, in Morgantown, to the late Harley and Lorena (Lovins) Rayburn. She married the love of her life, Wrenford Earl Pedigo, on June 16, 1962, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2008. She was longingly looking forward to their reunion.
Judy graduated from Columbus High School and worked as a night auditor for various hotels through the years. The vocation that she was most fond of was that of a loving wife, mother, and grandma. Judy was an excellent cook, with her family remembering her yeast biscuits and tropical carrot cake as favorites. She enjoyed crafts and was an accomplished quilter and crocheter. Her garden was always blooming with beautiful flowers and a bountiful harvest that she canned and shared with friends and family. Judy will be forever remembered by her loving family for her beauty, funny sense of humor, and her unconditional love.
In addition to her parents and Wrenford, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Faulkner.
Survivors include her children, Jefferey (Tracey) Pedigo, Karen Stillabower, and Melissa (John) Kircher; one brother, Bobby Rayburn; sisters, Gracie (Darryl) Hull, Joyce (the late Gene) McIntosh, Dixie (the late Ray) Pruitt, and Phyllis Miller; grandchildren, Shane Kriete, Justin Purdue, Michael Pittman, William Pittman, Nakita Pancero, Alicia Leibowitz; 14 great grandchildren; a large extended family.
Judy’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service & Crematory, 3855 25th Street, Columbus. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., on Wednesday. She will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society, through the funeral home.
