Julia Lynne Ahrens

Julia Lynne Ahrens, 78, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 Four Seasons Retirement Home.
Julia was born March 12, 1944 to Bill Bennett and Anne Lee Bond Bennett, during the war years in Paradise Valley Sanitorium & Hospital, located in San Diego, California where her family lived until they relocated to Brazil, Indiana. Julia was known by her middle name “Lynne” by her Van Buren High School friends where she graduated in 1962.
She married Clark Ahrens on December 16, 1990 and thrived during those years. Tyler William Ahrens (Adri), from a previous marriage was added to the growing family. Together they had 6 beautiful children, 10 grandchildren, Avery, Harper, and Macy Ahrens, Trent, Nick, and Luke Lancaster, Jo Jo, Andrew, and Lacey Lancaster, and Justin Gardner, all of which survive her, and 8 great-grandchildren, Bromley, Oakes, Redmond, Marek, Cora, Saylah, Judah, and Boaz, who also survive her. She was extremely proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Anne Bennett; brother, Jeff Bennett; and sons, Robert, and Mark Lancaster.
Julia is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Clark Konold Ahrens; 3 children, Andy Lancaster (Brenda), Mitch Lancaster (Nona), and Angela Lancaster (Mike Yorchak). She is also survived by her sister, Susan Abernathy; sister-in-law’s, Barbara Bennett, and Marcia Krieg; and many nieces and nephews.
Julia was loved by all that knew and met her, was the love of Clark’s life, and will be greatly missed.

Clark, my memories from years ago of Julia are how she shed her happy spirit and smile among all she was with, embracing your Cummins friends as if family. I also recall the obvious joy and happiness she brought to you. May the days ahead fall gently for you and allow you to remember a beautiful life.
Great memories of Julia at the party house by the water! She was a special person and Mike and I will miss seeing her. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

I am so sad to hear about Lynne. She was always such a bubbly, fun classmate at Van Buren. So glad she made it to our 60th class reunion & we got to share a few memories. Thinking of all her family.
