J.W. Overfelt May 27, 1929 - February 04, 2009 J.W. Overfelt, 79, of North Cherry Street died at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Millers Merry Manor in Hope. Mr. Overfelt retired from Golden Foundry and also owned and operated the Farm Bureau Co-op Service Station on Third Street for several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of The Bible Church. Born in Three Springs, Ky., May 27, 1929, Mr. Overfelt was the son of Pete and Ruby Mouser Overfelt. He married Eula Mae Brock Jan. 10, 1951. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ken (Jeanetta) Overfelt of Westport; daughters, Deborah K. (Ron) Hatton of Hope and Annette (Brad) Martin of Columbus; brothers, Doyle (Margo) Overfelt of The Colony, Texas, Lindy (Mary) Overfelt and Bobby (Wilma) Overfelt, both of Columbus; a sister, Rubena (Frank) Zamora of California; grandchildren, Chris and Kathy Hatton, Addison Overfelt, Andrew and Melissa Hamer and Jared and Amanda Martin; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Overfelt; and a sister, Louise Line. You are invited to light a virtual candle and send a message to the family via the Internet.
